Privacy policy

ProofDesk was built around one principle: what you capture belongs to you alone, and we have no reason to access it. This policy explains in concrete terms how your data is handled.

Data controller

The controller responsible for processing your personal data is Antoine Conan, sole proprietor trading as "Stackwise". Full contact details in the legal notice. Privacy contact: [email protected].

Local storage by default

All your case files, photos, scans, voice memos and notes are stored on your device, protected by the encryption iOS applies to app data (iOS Data Protection). No copy is sent to our servers without your explicit action.

Backup

ProofDesk does not back up your items to our servers. If iOS iCloud Backup is turned on for your iPhone, your items are included in it and handled by Apple under its own terms; we have no access to it. An end-to-end encrypted backup operated by us is planned for a future release: it does not exist today.

Optional AI assistant

The app's AI assistant is disabled by default. When you enable it, two analysis modes coexist and you remain in control at all times:

Local mode (default) — Apple Intelligence

On iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 or iPhone 17 (and newer) with Apple Intelligence enabled in iOS 26+, the analysis of your case file runs 100% on your device via Apple Foundation Models technology. No data is transmitted to any third party, to Stackwise, or to Apple. The model runs in your iPhone's secure enclave and the response is generated locally.

Extended mode (with explicit consent) — Mistral EU

When local analysis is not possible — incompatible device, Apple Intelligence disabled, or document too large for the local context window (~3500 tokens) — you can enable extended mode after explicitly accepting three checkboxes (transit, AI fallibility, no legal advice). The necessary text excerpts (item descriptions, OCR text from scans, voice memo transcriptions) are then transmitted to Mistral AI SAS (Paris, France), hosted exclusively in Europe (EU/EEA), for the duration of the request.

Zero Data Retention (ZDR) confirmed in production on 2026-05-23: your data is not stored by Mistral and is never used to train models. TLS 1.3 encrypted transit. No raw photo is transmitted.

For long documents, you can choose to authorize extended mode case file by case file (option "Always for this case file") or to confirm request by request. You can at any time disable the entire assistant, revoke only extended mode, or exclude item by item the elements you do not wish to have analyzed.

Each assistant response displays a transparent badge indicating the mode used (Apple AI or Mistral EU), for full traceability.

Technical data

We collect only the data strictly necessary for the app to function: app version, iOS version, anonymous device identifier for billing of any backups. No personal data is shared with third parties for advertising or tracking purposes.

No tracking, no ads

No tracking cookies, no advertising SDK, no external analytics pixel. No Facebook Analytics, no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel.

Your rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent (in particular for the AI assistant, at any time from the settings). To exercise these rights, write to [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (the French data protection authority).

Retention of consent records

When you enable the AI assistant, your acceptance is recorded on our servers (Article 7 GDPR — proof of consent) with only the information strictly necessary: pseudonymous identifier of your installation, version of the consent accepted, date of acceptance, language and app version. No IP address, no email, no device identifier is associated with this record.

Account deletion

Uninstall the app to delete all local data. If you had enabled backup, you can request its permanent deletion from the app or by email.

Hosting and processors

Site hosting and backups in France. For the extended-mode AI assistant, processing is carried out at Mistral AI SAS (Paris, France) with ZDR confirmed. For subscription management, we use RevenueCat Inc. (United States, governed by the Standard Contractual Clauses). For local mode (Apple Intelligence), no processor is involved — the model runs on-device. No transfer outside the EU/EEA for user case file data.
